The Founders

It all started when…

Imani and Erin two friends who grew up in church together saw a video on Facebook posted by the website Bustle.com.

The video documentary was entitled NSFWomen (Not Safe for Women); this video highlighted the struggle of homeless women as they experience a monthly event that happens in the life of every woman. After watching it, they joined forces and started, F.G.B.G. –For Girls By Girls. It motivated them to focus on this hygienic aspect that is missing when supporting homeless women and other women in need.

They founded this organization so that they can provide women living on the street, in shelter, or just in need the products they need monthly with no shame or stigmas attached. Having clean sanitary options every month should not be a burden to women. We believe women shouldn’t have to choose between a meal and pads/tampons.

Erin began working with children and the less fortunate after graduating high school which set the stage for her passion behind For Girls By Girls. As a co-founder of this non-profit her goal is to promote unity in women. By providing a foundation for service for women, through For Girls By Girls, Erin aims to reach women all across the world who are in economic hardship and let them know that someone out there cares for their well-being.

Imani teamed up with her childhood friend Erin and decided to find a way to help women in the community and maybe even around the world by creating For Girls by Girls; Imani is a multi-disciplinary creator/artist that also works in art education & continues to build her brand (www.ImaniLia.com) while co-founding/managing For Girls by Girls with Erin.
